Exclusive: Kiran’s Expeditie Robinson Survival Lesson
After winning Expeditie Robinson 2024, Kiran came back with a fresh mindset. His biggest lesson: you can’t prepare for everything. Accept that and everything will be okay.
“I trusted the process and learned along the way. I started the adventure with little idea of what to expect, but you figure it out anyway. That mindset of embracing the unknown became powerful. It’s the same in windsurfing, you can’t control the elements. You accept, adapt, and keep going.”
One unforgettable moment? Being voted out early as a strong competitor, he was sent alone to a tiny, deserted island. “It was just me, a few crabs, and the ocean. No distractions. Pure peace. That moment really stuck with me.”
His biggest takeaway moving forward? “Live in the moment. On the island, there was no planning ahead—just focus on what you need now. I’m trying to bring that same mindset into my training and competitions. When I’m out on the water, it’s about responding to the wind, the waves, and the moment. That focus helps me perform at my best and I’m grateful that life on the island made me realise this.”
